Sewage water contains contaminants such as cellulose fibers, paper, dyes, fillers, emulsions, adhesives, etc. They can be of different colors with high content of suspended and organic substances, specific odor. Effluents from pulp and paper mills are cleaned through sieve filters with further settling in horizontal or vertical settling tanks, chlorination and settling. After that, they are collected in common stream and directed to general units of mechanical, physical and chemical (using the method of pressure flotation or by settling with the use of coagulants) and/or biological treatment.
